Netflix 2016 – Summer Good, Summer Great: Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

Summer vacation is the feeling of freedom: waking up (or staying up) late to the drone of a cool air conditioner, endless iced coffees to beat the heat, and long nights where the clouds change from white, to yellow, to pink, an almost a tropical oasis.

That is, of course, if you have time off in the summer.

Even with work, there is something about time in the summer that feels limitless.  The hours are filled with levity.  The minutes feel long and capacious.  When the sun goes down, and the mosquitos come out, these hours feel best used catching up on Netflix.

And catch up, I have, relative to the incomprehensible amount of streaming content available.  One of the best things I’ve watched, a thing that I cannot stop recommending, is the CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

A Gown for the Crown: Cersei Lannister Styleboard

Game of Thrones has taken it to the next level with Sunday’s season finale.  While I am a GoT fan, as well as an avid watcher, I have never been more moved by an episode than the one that I saw on Sunday.   I have yet to do a style board about anything other than Mad Men, but I can’t hold in the sheer joy that erupted within me for Cersei Lannister’s costuming.

Women, Get Empowered: Hillary Clinton Has Made History

Last night, as I lay in bed, I felt myself getting goosebumps. My emotions were running high, my eyes wide.  I listened with rapt attention to words that I never thought I would hear in my lifetime. My eyes welled with tears, and I snuggled into my blankets to keep the shivers running up my arms at bay.  At moments, it was difficult to hear Candidate Clinton, as the crowd’s cheers of joy and pride erupted throughout the Brooklyn Navy yard.  This is it.  This is what we’ve been waiting for.

This morning, the high continued as I scanned through all relevant news feeds.  “Historic Victory,Hillary Makes History” “‘History in the Making’.”  My heart was fluttering, chest tight.  But then, as usual, the disappointment came when I opened my Facebook.

14 Days Later: The Sally Hanson Miracle Gel Experience

It seems fairly evident that I could write about nail polish for posts on end.  From finding a good nail polish that lasts to finding one in a color that works with your wardrobe, nail polish is a more complicated accessory than I ever considered.

If you’ll see my previous post, Sally Hanson has created what they promise to be a “Miracle Gel” Manciure (lasting up to 14 days).  Over the past 14 days, I have put putting their product to the test (no payment needed, Sally Hanson, just GENUINE ACADEMIC INQUIRY at work). [1] [2]

Today was my fourteenth day of the experiment, and you’ll NEVER BELIEVE THE RESULTS. [3]

A Miracle It Hasn’t Chipped Yet? Sally Hanson Miracle Gel: Day 1

If you’re like me, you both work a lot and have no money. You spend your free time finishing up chores, exercising while checking work e-mail, or streaming enough television/tea/white wine to numb your mind to the mundanity of it all.

But shouldn’t you have beautiful nails?
